Online Networks

Introduction

You can find an online network that covers almost any interest or purpose. And if you cant find an online network that interests you, then you can create one at an online site such as Yahoo! Groups, Meetup, or MySpace.

For a comprehensive list of online networks, including reviews for many, see The Virtual Handshake. Note that some of the information on this site is dated. For example, on May 15, 2006 the site reads that LinkedIn, as of February 2004, [has] over 200,000 professionals, while the LinkedIn site says that there are over 5.5 million registered users.

Another list of networks can be found at the Social Software Weblog.

Your experience may certainly differ, but for me I found that by far LinkedIn has the most people registered online that I personally know. If you register with

LinkedIn, please see my LinkedIn Tips.
