Sony Online Networks

Introduction

Here are links to online networks for current and former Sony employees and contingent workers (contractors, consultants, temporaries, etc.) to connect.

Note that the resources listed below are not endorsed or authorized by Sony.  When registering on these networks:

Use your personal email address as your primary email address

These networks may generate information which could be considered inappropriate for the work environment (job offers, gossip, etc.)

Here are the online networks for which I am aware there are a substantial number of Sony employees registered.  If I am missing any online networks which should be on this list, please contact me.

  1. Yahoo! Groups

Yahoo! Groups

Yahoo! Groups enable groups of people to stay in contact and share information.  The most common information that is shared is email.  When joining a group, you can specify whether you would like to:

  • Receive every email sent by a group member to the group
  • Receive a daily digest of all of the emails sent in a day
  • Receive no emails at all

The third option may seem strange, but a group member choosing this option can view all emails sent by the group by checking the Yahoo! Group website.

Depending upon how a particular Yahoo! Group administrator has configured the group, you may also be able to share photos, files, a calendar, and more.

Here is a list of Yahoo! Groups for Sony employees, contractors, and alumni:
